Temple of Saint John the theologist in Aptera

The restored byzantine monastery of Saint John is located next to the roman tanks of the ancient Aptera city. It is supposed to have been built during the 7 th century as a part of the property of Patmos monastery in which it stayed until it was completely isolated in 1964.
